I thought that the Barcelona market deserved its own Tabblo. If you're a foodie, you would go insane visiting this place. The variety of the food is flabbergasting. I think that if I were to live in Barcelona, I could not resist but switch to a food related profession, to make full use of such richness and freshness of ingredients. The array of fruits, especially exotic fruits, is unrivaled even compared to markets that I have visited in Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam... The fruits are beautifully displayed fresh and whole, but also cut up in fruit salads, and freshly squeezed in various combination of flavors. The selection of mushrooms, candies, chocolates, eggs, nuts, spices, baked goods, charcuterie is just amazing. Your senses are overwhelmed by the bursts of colors, the fresh smell, the excitement buzz... The seafood is offered raw or marinated and ready to cook, or already prepared... One can also find all sorts of caviar, foie gras, truffles... You can also sit down at a tapas or wine bar inside the market, and savor dishes prepared on the spot, or break a piece of bread to enjoy with their famed ham and sausages. If you are not already salivating, I don't know what else to add... |
